Anyway, a while back my friend bought me these little fimo nail art things. I'd never heard of them before, and honestly, they've been sitting around with my polishes for months now. I finally decided to try them out today.
For those of you who aren't familiar with these things, you can buy them as canes that you have to cut, or you can buy them in these little cylindrical containers, which happens to be how mine came. This is what they look like:
I recently organized my polishes, so these were brought back to my attention. Tonight I had a bit of extra time, so I decided to try them out. this was the result:
It was a fun adventure. (Oh, and I DID put some on the other hand, but I wasn't sure how long I wanted to have these on, so the other hand isn't quite as exciting.)
The fimo pieces aren't exactly difficult to apply; they're just tiny and a therefore a bit difficult to handle. I put them on using nail glue and covered them with a good thick top coat.
They do create a really unique and fun look, though, so if you're interested in trying something new, I think they're worth a shot. Look through google images of them, and you'll see some really crazy cool stuff.
The polish I used was OPI, Jade Is the New Black.
And, no, I don't usually use OPI. I'm way too cheap for that, but I was at Sally Beauty Supply last week getting some hair dye, and this color called out to me from across the store. Last year I was VERY into black nail polish, so I felt like the name of this polish was a cosmic sign telling me that this year should be a green year. Yeah, the cosmos totally does stuff like that. Believe it.
